Calculations are performed for a number of acoustic effects in layer q
uasicrystals (octagonal, decagonal, and dodecagonal ones). Expressions
are derived that determine the intensity of the second harmonic gener
ation for acoustic waves propagating in different directions and chara
cterized by different polarizations. The variations in the sound veloc
ity. are determined as functions of the external hydrostatic pressure
and uniaxial compressive stresses applied in different directions.
