In this paper, single-phase polycrystalline beta-Zn4Sb3 samples were prepar
ed by vacuum melting, and subjected to characterization using X-ray diffrac
tion. The transport properties of the samples were measured between room te
mperature and 723 K. The power factor was found to be high between 500 and
650 K, and a maximum value of 3.9 X 10(-4) W m(-1) K-2 was obtained at 623
K. The result suggested that this relatively inexpensive material is very p
