Abstract
The 2 mm continuum emission in the nuclear region of the archetypal st arburst galaxy M82 was mapped with the Nobeyama 45-m telescope using a bolometer array (NOBA). The 2 mm map shows a central concentration Wi th a,Single peak which is coincident with the 1.3 mm and 3.3 mm contin uum peaks and an extended component that reaches up to 400 pc above an d below the galactic plane. The good agreement in size and morphology between the extended structures and the dust lanes seen in the optical image or the spurlike features seen in CO maps suggests that these st ructures are associated with dust outflows. From a comparison between a 2 mm map and CO maps, it is suggested that the 2 mm continuum traces the distribution of neutral gas more precisely than does the CO emiss ion.
