Abstract
Using extended crossing beams and optical spectroscopy, the excitation of t ransitions in the quintet system of MnII terms from the ground state of the manganese atom were studied. The results are compared with other authors' data. For the levels z(5)P(1,2,3)(0), the branching ratios, the contributio n of cascade transitions, and the cross sections for level excitation were determined. (C) 2000 MAIK "Nauka/Interperiodica".
