An optical fringe projector technique for microcomponent is developed and a
nalyzed. Using arrangement of two-fiber based on Young's fringe interferome
ter, the sinusoidal fringe pattern has been obtained. Due to separation of
two fibers located in front of two neighboring faces of a beamsplitter, the
fringe pattern with different pitches in the superimposed area of two lase
r beams from two fibers can be readily provided by adjusting the location o
f one of two fibers. The compact set-up by incorporating with two beamsplit
ters and a long distance microscope enables the fine pitch of interference
fringe pattern projected onto the surface of micro-component. The experimen
tal results show good visibility of fringe pattern with fringe pitch to 10
mu m and the designed interferometer can be used as a fringe projector for
micro-component measurement.
