Abstract
Metastatic cancer involves the femur more often than any other long bone. S ince independent ambulation requires an intact femur, stabilization or reco nstruction of a femur weakened by cancer assumes tremendous importance in m aintaining an acceptable quality of life for the cancer patient. This artic le reviews the surgical options and ideal indications for the reconstructio n of femoral metastatic disease.
