Abstract
Quasi-zero-dimensional magnetic polarons in single Cd0.93Mn0.07Te/Cd0.6Mg0. 4Te quantum dots have been studied by photoluminescence spectroscopy. By co mparing the experimental data with model calculations, the energy, the inte rnal magnetic field, and the volume of the magnetic polarons are obtained. Moreover, the magnetic environment of the recombining electron hole pair ca uses a distinct broadening of the emission line (similar to 4 meV) of one d iluted magnetic single quantum dot. The alignment of the Mn-spins in high m agnetic fields results in a linewidth narrowing of almost one order of magn itude and the linewidth becomes comparable to that of a nonmagnetic Cd0.93M g0.07Te/Cd0.6Mg0.4Te reference sample.
