Are composites the way to the "super car"?

This article discusses the motivation for using fiber-reinforced plastics i n automotive applications and the advantages and limitations of this techno logy. Applications of fiber-reinforced plastic components in current and fu ture vehicles are presented as examples to show how these materials help im prove performance, energy-efficiency, manufacturing cost, and environmental conservation.
