Zz. Ren et H. Toki, Detailed study of the ground state properties of the newly found nuclide Ni-48 in relativistic mean-field theory, PROG T PHYS, 104(3), 2000, pp. 595-601
We investigated in detail the ground state properties of the newly discover
ed doubly magic nucleus Ni-48 (1)) in the framework of relativistic mean-fi
eld (RMF) theory with various parameter sets. Calculations show that this n
ucleus is a bound nucleus, because both of its proton separation energies a
re positive and its single particle levels are bound. This agrees with an e
xperimental result.(1)) The calculated two-proton separation energy for Ni-
48 is found to be very close to the estimated value from the same experimen
t.(1)) The RMF calculations also show that the proton-rich nucleus 48Ni is
spherical and Z = 28 is a good magic number. The variation of the spin-orbi
t splittings with proton excess is discussed in the context of RMF theory.
