Abstract
(T)he Verhaltensbeurteilungsbogen Schule (VBS-L) is presented as a screenin g-procedure that helps teachers to analyse and assess the students' behavio ur concerning different social, learning and motivational aspects. The VBS- L puts emphasis on diagnostic goals and helps to guarantee the quality of p rocess of interventions and methods of special education. In contrast to a German version of Achenbach's Teacher's Report Form (TRF) which is a norm-o rientated diagnostical approach identifying students with empirically based syndromes the VBS-L is a diagnostic instrument to identify students who re quire special education and supports to guarantee the quality in youth welf are.
