Abstract
As a result of the study of the nickel(II) complex with 2-(2'-N-phenylamino naphthylazo)-1-octylbenzimidazole (HL) with a NiL2 composition, the authors established that, unlike the previously suggested structure with the tetra hedral central core, the title compound has an octahedral configuration due to the tt identate function of the hetarylazo ligand with the formation of the NiN6 coordination core and the closure of two five-membered metallocyc les by each ligand.
