Abstract
The beta-aminovinyl ketones containing aminonaphthalene or aminoquinoline m oieties, as well as the nickel(II) and cobalt(II) complexes with these liga nds were synthesized. The isolated individual compounds were characterized by IR and H-1 NMR spectroscopy, and their magnetic properties were studied. Introducing the 8-aminoquinoline substituent into the metal chelate substa ntially modifies the magnetic properties of the complexes, especially of th e nickel ones. The structure of the compounds is discussed.
