Abstract
The electronic absorption spectra of the palladium(II) pi-allyl complexes [ Pd(C3H5)Cl](2) (1), [Pd(beta-C10H15)Cl](2) (2), [Pd(C3H5)(PPh3)Cl] (3), and [Pd(beta-C10H15)(PPh3)Cl] (4) were comparatively analyzed, and for the chi ral complexes 2 and 4, circular dichroism spectra were studied. Complex 4 w as described for the first time. With regard to CD data, the electronic abs orption spectra of complexes 1-4 were decomposed into Gaussian components w ith the ORIGIN 3.0 program and interpreted. The shifts of these bands and c hanges in their intensity in the spectra of complexes 1-4 were explained. T he trend in chemical bonding in the series of complexes 1-4 is considered.
