Abstract
Lanthanides were found to form both homo- and heterobinuclear complexes wit h 4-tert-butylcalix[8]arene. Absorption spectroscopy evidence shows that th e binuclear complexes form through the stage of the formation of the mononu clear complexes. For solutions of the lanthanide heterobinuclear complexes based on 4-tert-butylcalix[8]arene, the sensitization of 4f-luminescence of Nd(III) ions, in the presence of Sm(III), Eu(In), and Tb(III) ions, and of Yb(III) ions, in the presence of Nd(III) and Sm(III) ions, was found for t he first time.
