Abstract
A solid state method is described for the preparation of the (benzimidazola to)cobalt(II) complex from cobalt acetate and benzimidazole in the solid st ate. The complex was characterized by elemental analyses, IR spectra and X- ray spectroscopy using a compact X-ray diffraction analyser. The violet-blu e coloured complex in the solid state has an identical structure with the o ne obtained by the wet method.
