Abstract
The influence of galactic and intergalactic scattering on counts of sc intillating radio sources is analyzed. An expression for these source counts taking account of the effects of scattering is obtained. It is shown that scattering cannot explain the very sharp decrease in compac t (scintillating) radio source counts for flux densities S < 0.7 Jy at frequency 102 MHz.
