Ru(1%)/Support (SiO2 yAl(2)O(3)) were prepared by sol-gel processing, using
H2O/ Alcoxide molar ration and gelation pH different. The surface area inc
rease, with the gelation acidity decrease. The TPR has shown metal-support
interaction and reducibility degree different. In all catalysts the metalli
c dispersion is low and the size of metallic ruthenium mainly depends of ge
lation pH. The activity the catalysts are probed in toluene hydrogenation.
The principal product was methylcyclohexane, which increased with the metal
particle size.
