Critical analysis of the tests of the conserved vector current (CVC) u
sing data on tau-lepton decays into hadrons and e(+)e(-) --> hadrons i
s presented. CVC predictions for the branching ratios and mass spectra
derived from e(+)e(-) data are in general consistent with the data on
tau decays. Limitations on the precision of CVC tests resulting from
the available statistics are discussed.
