Abstract
Based on the known anti-metastasis activities of lactosides and galactoside s, a galactosyl and a lactosyl trimannoside were prepared via the conventio nal Koenigs-Knorr and trichloroacetimidate methods, respectively. Through t ypical deblocking procedures, a tetrasaccharide alpha-D-Galp-(1-->2)-alpha- D-Manp-(1-->2)-alpha-D-Manp-(1-->6)-alpha-D-ManpOCH(3) and a pentasaccharid e beta-D-Galp-(1-->4)-beta-D-Glcp-(1-->2)-alpha-D-Manp-(1-->2)-alpha-D-Manp -(1-->6)-alpha-D-ManpOCH(3) were obtained.
