Calculating medium and image gamut boundaries for gamut mapping

The Segment Maxima Method for calculating gamut boundary descriptors of bot h colons reproduction media and colour images is introduced. Methods for de termining the gamut boundary along a given line of mapping used by gamut ma pping algorithms are then described whereby these methods use the Gamut Bou ndary Descriptor obtained using the Segment Maxims Method.
