Abstract
We study the equivalence of H-1 and H(curl, div) norms for vector fields sa tisfying an electric or magnetic boundary condition in an axially symmetric domain. We present two approaches, one based oil elementary analytic tools , the other on the results known for the Laplacian. This result, valid for almost all axisymmetric domains, is used in the numerical resolution of Max well's equations. (C) 2000 Academie des sciences/Editions scientifiques et medicales Elsevier SAS.
