Synthesis of polygalacturonases in alkalophilic Bacillus sp. which is sensi
tive to rifampin, was clearly repressed by glucose. Mutants resistant to gl
ucose catabolic repression were selected. From spontaneous mutants, NTT33-c
s52 and NTT33-cs301 produced polygalacturonase activities 57.2 to 82.4% hig
