Vv. Bakhterev, Temperature-dependent resistivity variations in serpentinites from the Bazhenov deposit (the Urals), GEOL GEOFIZ, 41(9), 2000, pp. 1325-1330
The paper considers the effect of high temperatures on the behavior of elec
trical resistivity of dunite and harzburgite serpentinites from the Bazheno
v chrysotile-asbestos deposit. This behavior was found out to depend on the
source-rock composition and genesis of serpentinites. Namely, the temperat
ure dependence of resistivity, Ig R = f(T) is controlled by rock mineralogy
(presence or absence of brucite) determined by the primary composition bf
the ultramafics and the physicochemical conditions of serpentinization. The
obtanied results have been correlated with data of thermal, mineralogical,
chemical, and other analyses.
