Abstract
Apristurus platyrhynchus and four related species were reviewed taxonomical ly. A. sibogae from Indonesia and A. micropterygeus from the South China Se a were valid species. A. verweyi from the Philippines and A. acanutus from the South China Sea were junior synonyms of A. platyrhynchus. A. platyrhync hus was re-described and its new biological information was provided.
