Abstract
This contribution investigated the temperature and velocity profiles expect ed for free convection flows in cylindrical pores when a homogeneous heat s ource was present. The heat source in the pore was the driving force for th e motion and determined the nature of the velocity profile. Many engineerin g processes involve reactions occurring in porous media for which an analys is of this sort would be beneficial. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd.
