The paper presents the methods and results of the estimation of dimensions
of the effective plastic zone in a steel plate after the contact explosion
of a detonating cord with the use of the holographic interferometry. A shap
e and dimensions of the residual stressed-strained zone are determined by t
he control of the orientation and interference band frequency in the interf
erograms of the object studied. The data on hardness and structure in the p
late studied are presented.
