H. Nahme et E. Lach, Determination of the mechanical behavior of nitrogen alloyed steels at strain rates 10(3) s(-1) < d epsilon/dt < 2 10(6) s(-1), J PHYS IV, 10(P9), 2000, pp. 287-292
The mechanical behavior of the nitrogen steels P900, P2000, PANACEA and a g
radient material has been investigated by means of various tests methods sp
anning the strain late regime from quasi-static to high dynamic loading. Th
e dynamic tests include Split-Hopkinson-Bar-Tests and Planar-Plate-Impact T
ests in combination with a VISAR. Many steel types show a phase transition
when loaded to pressure stresses exceeding 13 GPa. Contrary to the behavior
of these steels this phase-transition is suppressed in nitrogen alloyed au
stenitic steels due to the presence of nitrogen In addition to the determin
ation of the quasi-static, dynamic and shock properties of the P900, P2000
and PANACEA the results of SEM examination of softly recovered shock loaded
samples will be presented, yielding insight in the failure mechanisms at h
igh rates of strain.
