H. Couque et al., Study of dynamic plastic deformation of a nitrogen alloyed steel using single and symmetric Taylor testing, J PHYS IV, 10(P9), 2000, pp. 353-358
The present investigation examines the dynamic plastic deformation of a mod
erate-strength high-ductility austenitic steel at strain rates ranging from
10(3) to 10(4) s(-1) using Taylor tests. Single and symmetric Taylor testi
ng was employed to generate large plastic deformation under different stres
s states. The dynamic plastic deformation was analyzed through numerical si
mulations and scanning electron microscope observations of the Taylor speci
mens. The simulations were conducted with a Johnson-Cook constitutive model
calibrated up to 300 degrees C and 5 x 10(3) s(-1).
