Abstract
We have performed biomechanical experiments on fresh cadaveric fingers to t est two modifications to normal rings which may prevent ring avulsion injur ies. One of these modifications produced reliable protection against ring a vulsion accidents and was undetectable. It thus does not reduce the symboli c value of a wedding ring.
