A model of linear, orthotropic cord-rubber composite material is defined in
the paper, which enables to make an effective static analysis of complex p
neumatic structures. A procedure in which physical nonlinearity and incompr
essibility of rubber-like materials are taken into account is introduced in
to the existing numerical tool, so far working as a geometrically nonlinear
code. An analysis of an axisymmetrical pneumatic tire model, loaded with i
nternal pressure, is performed as an example.
