M. Kidwai et al., Microwave-assisted solid-phase synthesis of cephalosporin derivatives withantibacterial activity, MONATS CHEM, 131(9), 2000, pp. 937-943
The reaction of heterocyclic acids with 7-amino-cephalosporanic acid adsorb
ed on basic alumina under microwave irradiation afforded the N-acylated cep
halosporin analogues in satisfactory yield. All compounds were tested for t
heir antibacterial activity; some of them showed significant antibacterial
properties. Cefotaxime and cephalothin were used as reference drugs.
