Increasing attention has recently been paid to a group of patients who
experience anaphylaxis after ingestion of foods prepared with mite-co
ntaminated wheat hour. We present three cases of this syndrome, which
occurs more often in young adults with allergic rhinitis and/or asthma
. We have observed an increased frequency of sensitivity to aspirin an
d other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), manifested as u
rticaria or angioedema, in patients with this condition.
