Inherited or acquired immunodeficiencies as well as autoimmune diseases tre
ated with cytotoxic drugs are associated with an increased incidence of lym
phoma. Non-Hodgkin's lymphomas that occur in the context of drug-induced im
munosuppression, acquired or congenital immunodeficiency, are frequently as
sociated with Epstein-Barr virus infection. This report describes the occur
rence of an Epstein-Ban virus associated pulmonary B cell lymphoma in a pat
ient with longstanding rheumatoid arthritis treated with methotrexate. (C)
