Abstract
We demonstrate theoretically that the discrimination between TEM00 and TEM0 1 modes achieved by a hard apertured resonates is greatly enhanced by the i nsertion of a simple binary diffractive optic inside the resonator. The lat ter, known as pi/2 plate, introduces a constant phase shift in the central region of the beam. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
