Perineural pseudoinvasion in chronic prancreatitis

The occurrence of perineural epithelial complexes within the pancreas canno t always be regarded as evidence of malignancy. Chronic pancreatitis can in duce alterations in the anatomy of the organ with a histological picture co mparable to that of neural invasion. The important criteria for differentia l diagnosis are neuroendocrine differentiation of these cells or their duct ular morphology without atypia.
