Abstract
Besides complexities concerning football championships, some regularities a re identified in them. These regularities refer to goal distributions by go al-players and by games. In particular, the goal distribution by goal-playe rs is well adjusted by the Zipf-Mandelbrot law, suggesting a connection wit h an anomalous decay. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
