Abstract
This report represents some new experimental results and the quantitative m odel describing large magneto-strain effect and main mechanical and magneti c properties observed in several ferromagnetic shape-memory alloys. The mod el application to giant magneto-strain effect recently found in some non-st oichiometric Ni-Mn-Ga alloys is discussed. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. A ll rights reserved.
