The effect of sodium salts of dicarboxylic acids on the anodic dissolution
of cobalt in solutions of perchlorates is considered. Acceleration of the d
issolution is observed only if the pH of such a solution falls into the dom
ain of the formation and existence of soluble complexes of Co(II) with the
corresponding acid. The mechanism of the anodic dissolution of cobalt in th
e presence of dicarboxylates is suggested.
