Ab. Shein et al., The adsorption of salts of trimethyl-substituted sulfonium, selenonium, and telluronium on iron in sulfuric acid solutions, PROT MET R, 36(5), 2000, pp. 490-494
Adsorption of trimethyl-substituted sulfonium, selenonium, and telluronium
iodides on the armco-iron in 0.5 M H2SO4 is studied by the capacitance meth
od. The compounds studied proved to be highly efficient inhibitors of the c
athodic hydrogen evolution. The contribution of organic cations and anions
to the total retardation of the cathodic process is evaluated. Some assumpt
ions on the adsorption mechanism are proposed.
