Abstract
Cystic masses of the neck include a wide array of developmental lesions. Mi
mics include necrotic lymphadenopathy and neoplasms. A multimodality imagin
g approach is necessary for optimal lesion characterization and preoperativ
e planning. Proper assessment requires an analysis of lesion morphology, an
d an understanding of cross-sectional, compartmental anatomy.
