ns now see adults with a chronic disease requiring more global care. To imp
rove the patient's quality of life, it is essential to take into account th
e social and occupational aspirations as well as their psychological resist
ance and self-determination. We emphasize the need for perfect synergy betw
een medical and social care givers and on the importance of careful transit
ion from pediatric to adult care, including during the time of major surgic
al procedures.
