The stability of the complex (mu-H)Os-3(mu-OCNMe2)(CO)(9)PPh2CH2CH=CH2 (1),
which contains a free unsaturated functional group in the terminal ligand
PPh2CH2CH=CH2, with respect to isomerization, chelation of the ligand, and
other transformations in solutions was examined. No transformations of comp
lex 1 were observed in the course of synthesis from (mu-H)Os-3(mu-OCNMe2)(C
O)(9)NMe3 or upon heating in solution. Complex 1 as well as which complexes
(mu-H)Os-3(mu-OCNMe2)(CO)(9)PHPh2 and (mu-H)Os-3(mu-OCNMe2)(CO)(9)PPh3 whi
ch were formed as admixtures, were isolated in the solid state and identifi
ed by H-1,H-1-{P-31}, and H-1-{H-1} NMR, IR, and Raman spectroscopy and mas
s spectrometry.
