Vn. Naumov et al., The heat capacity, entropy, enthalpy, and reduced gibbs energy of chromium(III) tris(acetylacetonate) in the temperature range 5-320 K, RUSS J PH C, 74(10), 2000, pp. 1579-1584
The heat capacity of chromium tris(acetylacetonate) was measured by the adi
abatic method in the temperature range 5-320 K. Heat capacity anomalies wer
e observed, of which the most pronounced at 60 K was treated as correspondi
ng to a phase transition. Anomalous contributions to the entropy and enthal
py were determined. The experimental heat capacities of CT(C5H7O2)(3) were
used to calculate the thermodynamic functions of the compound (entropy, ent
halpy, and reduced Gibbs energy) in the temperature range 0-320 K. Reversib
le changes in color of Cc(C5H7O2)(3) were observed. A change in color from
red (below 120 K) to dark violet (above 210 K) occurred in the temperature
range 120-210 K.
