The thermal properties of manganites of the (La1-xPrx)(0.7)Ca0.3MnO3-y seri
es with perovskite-like structures were studied by thermogravimetry and dif
ferential scanning calorimetry. Endothermic effects were found to correspon
d to phase transitions with ferromagnetic ordering. The boundaries of the h
omogeneity regions with respect to oxygen were established with the use of
samples whose oxygen indices were determined iodometrically. Diffusion mobi
lity of oxygen at 950 degrees C and p(O-2) = 1 atm was studied by construct
ing distribution profiles of an oxygen isotopic tracer, which allowed the c
oncentration of oxygen vacancies to be estimated.
