Abstract
The hitherto unknown male and egg of Megaselia persecutrix Schmitz are desc ribed. Observations on its oviposition attacks on its host ant Camponotus g igas (Latreille) are presented. The parasitization of the large ant Camponotus gigas (Latreille) by the pho rid fly Megaselia persecutrix Schmitz was reported by Schmitz (1932) and co nfirmed by Disney & Schroth (1989). In this paper we present further observ ations and describe the hitherto unknown male of M. persecutrix.
