Abstract
We describe the unusual preliminary results of manganese(III) acetate based tandem oxidation of various beta-alkoxy 2-cyclopentenone and 2-cyclohexeno ne derivatives to afford corresponding alpha'-acetoxy-alpha'-phenyl substit uted oxidation products in good yields.
