The preparation and characterization of electrochemical co-polymerization o
f aniline (An) with o-phenylenediamine (o-PD) are reported as the first cas
e of imprinting atropine sulfate. A bulk acoustic wave (BAW) sensor based o
n this material was fabricated using electrochemical method. The sensor exh
ibited good selectivity and sensitivity to the template. A linear relations
hip between the frequency shift (-Deltaf) and logC was found from calibrati
on curve in the range of 8.0 x 10-(6)-4.0 x 10(-3) M. The determination lim
it was 2.0 x 10(-6) M. The sensor was successfully applied for the determin
ation of atropine sulfate in media of serum and urine. (C) 2000 Elsevier Sc
