Abstract
A strictly phylogenetic classification of the supergeneric taxa within the subfamily Timpanoginae includes the Attenellini, n. tribe, consisting of At tenella Edmunds; the Eurylophellini, n. tribe, consisting of Dentatella All en, n. stat., and Eurylophella Tiensuu; and the Timpanogini, n. tribe, cons isting of Timpanoga Needham and Dannella Edmunds, n. stat. Dentatella danut ae McCafferty, n. sp., is described from larvae taken from a stream in sout hern Quebec, Canada. The new species differs from the obviously closely rel ated D. bartoni (Allen) by possibly striking coloration differences as well as numerous slight structural differences.
