Abstract
The Annenberg 2000 study of the primaries found that voters learned the iss ue distinctions stressed by the candidates and that these distinctions infl uenced votes. The study also found that those in heavily contested primarie s learned more than did voters in states with less contact with the candida tes and their campaigns.
