We present H I maps of a recently discovered dwarf galaxy near the IC 342 M
affei 1-2 Group, Cassiopeia 1. Our data show that Cas 1 has a total H I mas
s of 1.5 x 10(8) M., assuming a distance of 4.5 Mpc. The highest column den
sity gas forms a ring around a central depression in the H I distribution a
nd the peak of the H I gas is offset from the distribution of starlight. Is
ovelocity contours indicate that the galaxy is in solid-body rotation; a re
gion of large velocity dispersion is approximately coincident with observed
current star formation activity in Cas 1.
